When hustle and bustle of the day gave way to the mystery of the night, lighter music dominated my iPod. Upbeat or melancholic, these tunes were my perfect company on late-night Tube journeys in almost empty carriages or leisurely walks from the station to the hotel along the crowded night streets of Paddington area when last open restaurants were closing for the night and people’s step became slower under the cover of the darkness.
